HISTORIC GEM and Great Service.
Loved the historic charm and riverside setting. Liz made our visit memorable with fun, attentive service. Dinner was excellent—steak and pappardelle were standout dishes. Brunch was decent but more limited. Mimosas were solid. Parking can be tough with no valet. Still, a 5-star experience!

The place was really beautiful, with excellent service and delicious food. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly made, the crème brûlée was absolutely amazing, and the lemon pie was just as delicious. The drinks were great too, overall, a wonderful experience that I’d definitely recommend!

I made a reservation to.come here tonight and try it out. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. She took us to our seats and Christina waited on us. What a treat she is! Very knowledgeable about the menu, great at picking out recommendations, suggestively sold the Brussels sprouts - which were delicious. They is just the right amount of the honey avocado and balsamic not to be overpowering and we're awesome! My date had the Tropical Chicken Milanese and I had the Pappardelle Bolognese & Burrata and wow! Even my date was like, "that's really good." We also had a black & white martini - soon good. Christina recommended some desserts and had to try the carrot cake. Whoa! THAT'S how a carrot cake should me made. Butter cream icing wasn't overly sweet, flavors were outstanding. Overall, one absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! And ask for Christina - you won't be disappointed!

Had a great experience at The House on the River! The setting is just fantastic—right on the waterfront in downtown Fort Lauderdale, with a stylish, relaxed “Florida Riviera” atmosphere that instantly transports you. I ordered the steak and eggs along with an espresso martini—(server recommendations)both were delicious and just what I was craving. Our server, Jolie, made it even better: she was attentive, friendly, and I loved her fall-themed earrings (such a fun seasonal touch!). Highly recommend for a meal with both great food and a lovely location. Glad I found on my visit.

Charming and historic venue. Megan welcomed us on a rainy Thanksgiving day. Daniela gave us Great Service.
Loved the historic charm and riverside setting. Daniela made our visit memorable with fun, attentive service. Dinner was excellent— The Thanksgiving buffet was amazing. The steak, salmon and turkey were standout dishes. The selection and freshness of everything was just a delight. The mussels, shrimp, the salads, the sides, the desserts. We enjoyed everything. Parking can be tough with no valet. Still, a 5-star experience! We had such a great time. I forgot to take pictures of the buffet and all the food. Suffice it to say they looked delicious and were delicious. kudos to the whole team.🎉🍽️🤩

The House on the River offers a pleasant setting with a calm waterfront atmosphere and friendly service. We tried several dishes. The shrimp salad was fresh, well-seasoned, and came with crisp vegetables. The tortellini dish was rich and flavorful with a good mix of vegetables. The mussels were cooked properly and served in a tasty broth with toasted bread. Overall, the food was solid, the view is a clear highlight, and the staff was attentive. A good spot for a relaxed meal by the water.

I love the creative menu for dinner dining, but for this review I’m specifically talking about their event brunch. I hosted a bridal shower with 15 guests on the outside terrace. It was DIVINE! My guests were in awe of the beautiful way they decorate for an outdoor gathering! Of course it’s an added bonus that it is sitting along the New River. And the food? Well, my friend who owns her own restaurant asked for the salad dressing “to go” ! She wanted to try to deconstruct and make it for her family! The amazing salad was just the beginning…on to delicious short rib sliders, chicken(some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had) & waffles, pancakes, quesadillas, fruit, ham & cheese croissants! If you want an event that you’ll love and also impress your guests, this is the place!

This is an amazing restaurant/venue. We hosted my daughter’s bridal shower here and it was absolutely perfect. I worked with Neil to set the menu and drinks, and talk about decor - he was so helpful and supportive. The staff was somehow always there when we wanted anything, but always out of the way. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was incredible - we had a private space by the water that had a gorgeous view, was well shaded and cool, and allowed us to enjoy each others company. I could not be happier, and highly recommend!
